The application usage will start with few users and it will increase over time. Indicina required that the solution scale rapidly and cost-effectively as usage increases.
Samplifier is a clinical quality measure sample size calculator to be rendered as a single-page web application.
We delivered a fully Serverless application with no fixed costs and no need for operations to support servers, software upgrades, or additional security monitoring. The workload can scale as the usage increases.
Another requirement was to provide the flexibility to allow users to either create their own credentials to access the system, or to use their existing Google and Microsoft credentials for OIDC connections. Amazon Cognito with its key authentication features, was the right solution to create a good user experience with low friction.
Productivity Improvement
The application replaces a manual sample size determination process with an automated process that observably lowers error rates in the determination of hybrid measure minimum sample sizes, and generates significant efficiency gains for users.
Technical Capability
The application provides a demonstrable example of Indicina's capacity to design and implement a web application that uses technologies and protocols included in the HL7 FHIR® standards framework and developer community, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, XML/JSON, JavaScript (Node.js), GitHub, and REST API protocols.
